Anxiety & Stress
Stress is normal - and you can beat it
Anxiety is a learned behaviour. Anxiety is a normal reaction that people have if they are put under abnormal amounts of stress.
Some people will internalise this and it can to lead to:
- Ulcers
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
- Heart Attacks
- Panic Attacks
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Battle Stress/Trauma and all forms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Bladder Urgency (where your Doctor has ruled out physical causes.)
- Premature Ejaculation
For other people it could cause:
- Panic attacks
- Agoraphobia
- Other phobias
Anxiety is a normal reaction that normal people get under conditions of abnormal
stress!
We all have a fight or flight response which is part of our make up
to help us survive. When this response is sensitised by an event or
even a build up of events – (and sometimes the last straw can be quite
a small one), it can trigger more easily and in a more exaggerated
way.
No matter how solid and hardworking you are in the end you can only
take/do so much before something gives!
Everyone is under increasing levels of pressure, in their personal
lives or in the work place or in the community. This pressure is generated
by our own attitudes, beliefs and expectations. We live faster lives
with more technology and travel and have greater expectation. This
pressure can lead to feeling out of control, overwhelmed, worthless
when the
situation starts to run beyond their ability to manage. I.e. Like trying
to work at conveyor belt that moves too fast and the harder you work
the faster it goes! And when the ability to cope slips you begin to
feel guilty and useless! Often this results in you assessing risks
in an exaggeratedly large way and your ability to cope in an exaggeratedly
small way. Problems - even ones you know you should be able to deal
with - become too much to handle
Often insomnia, and feelings of low self-esteem and panic start and
fear of failure and feelings of being not able to cope can affect your
ability to live and enjoy your life and loved ones!
Hypnotherapy has been proven over many years to be an excellent and effective way of relaxing, desensitising, lowering the reaction of the fight and flight response by putting the situation into a new perspective in a pleasant, positive and empowering way. Re-learning a new response!
Learning to handle the stress in your life can help you cope and enjoy yourself!
