Rachel solves an eating problem.
RACHEL Smith, a 29 year-old office manager, found hypnotherapy helped her get to the root of her eating problems. Once a regular gym-goer, Rachel began to put on weight after her working hours increased and a relationship ended.
"It was comfort eating," she says."It was the need for comfort after a long day at work and the boredom of being on my own.
"I had finished with a boyfriend and I had been given a project to do on top of my own job which meant I was basically doing the job of two people and working a 12-hour day. When I got home I didn't feel like going to the gym, seeing friends or doing anything. I just used to pig out in front of the telly.
"It came t0 a head when I realised I had put on a stone in a year. I did try dieting, but my heart wasn't in it."
As it turned out, Sheila drew out a more deep seated problem which dieting wouldn't have dealt with.
"I discussed lots of things with Sheila and finally we got to the crux of the matter. It went back to my mum and dad and the feeling they had favoured my brother more than me.
"I had obviously been carrying that feeling around with me and it had made me feel down.
"It started to work immediately - although not 100 per cent. I still had my bad days.
" I had five or six sessions with Sheila and each time I walked out of there with my head held high and my shoulders back. But it wasn't until I finished that I could see the complete change.
"I have started to lose weight and am feeling much better."
